There are still some entries in pending mode just because I want to blog about something else first.

It is my second day in Invercargill tonight.(Written 3 days before posting) The only reason that I came down here was just plainly for my hospital placement at a newly built modern art building – Southland Hospital which is my second choice when we were asked to email our preference. Of course, Dunedin Hospital was my first option. The only regret that I have is not doing it last year or before fourth year commenced but it is too late for that now.

Since the start of my one month of mid-sem break, the only real break I had was the first week when I visited Kam in Wellington. However, I cannot deny the fact that this is way better than attending lectures and workshops (I think I have mentioned this in one of my previous entries).

After my trip back from Wellington, I stayed for another week in Christchurch for my community placement (I will blog about it some other time).

Back to my intention of this post. On the way here, I watched New Moon in the bus (I know I am outdated). Ooo-Mmm-Ggg! At that moment, I wish I were Bella with two hunks by my side *greedy*. Next thing in my list when I am back in Dunny is to watch Eclipse!

Okay, back to Inver again *wince* I arrived half an hour late and the taxi that I called was not there so I called again. They are very efficient cos’ in less than 5 minutes, a cab appeared and it took about 6-7 minutes to reach the hospital. For this whole week, I am staying at Doctor’s Residence which is about 3 to 5 minutes walk to the Hospital.

So far I find that this hostel is not as bad as I thought. Even though I am starting to like this living space because of the warmth and powerful shower, I still prefer my flat in Dunedin, wanting to go home asap. For goodness sake, I haven’t even started my placement yet .

I have watched 3 movies in one day. This afternoon, I just explored the hospital, the residence and stayed in the computer room doing prep. This building has 3 floors with the first floor reserved for fourth year medical students, 2nd floor mostly for 5th year and Trainee intern and the uppermost floor mainly for workers and House Surgeon as well as those doing their electives. I as a temporary resident got placed on second floor.

Am I writing an essay or something? I should stop for now and enjoy the photos.

In the bus on the way

Watching movie

My room does not have a bulb for my ceiling light.

We have to slide the in/out slider in case of any emergency like fire so that they know who's in

Code needed to get in
On sunday

This hostel is near to the mortuary (like one min away by walking)

I think this is the old hospital

The new hospital

Cafeteria (outside)

To children's ward

Taken from second floor

The plan

Mental health unit. It is very interesting that people who think that they need help can get admitted voluntarily

I stay here
